DESCRIPTION:Step Back in Time – Heritage Walk & Picnic\nThe River Valley Alliance Community Engagement Committee and the Fort Heritage Precinct invite you to Step Back in Time on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM for a family-friendly afternoon of history, community, and old-fashioned fun in Fort Saskatchewan.\nThis collaborative event will begin with an easy guided walk exploring the Heritage Trail area and its connection to the River Valley trail system before participants enjoy a special tour of the Heritage Village. Along the way, guests will learn more about life in the Fort Saskatchewan area during the early 1900s and explore the historic buildings and stories that helped shape the community.\nFollowing the tour, participants are invited to bring their own picnic lunch and enjoy classic games and activities inspired by the 1900s–1930s. Guests are encouraged to dress in old-style or historical clothing for the event, although costumes are not required. There may even be prizes for the best “Back in Time” outfit!\n📍 Meeting Location:\nFort Heritage Precinct parking lot beside the Warden’s House\n10006 – 100 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan\n🚗 Parking:\nAdditional parking is available across the street at Legacy Park.\n🥾 Route Details:\nApprox. 2.5–3 km\nEasy paved route with a slight incline\n⏰ Arrival Time:\nPlease arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for check-in so the event can begin promptly at 11:00 AM.\n🌦️ Weather:\nThis event is weather-dependent and may be cancelled in the event of rain.\n👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 All ages welcome. Please dress for the weather and bring your own picnic lunch.\n🎟️ Registration Required:\nPlease register in advance for this event. If you are no longer able to attend, we kindly ask that you cancel your registration so your spot can be offered to someone on the waitlist, as RVA events often sell out.\nCome experience local history, connect with the river valley trail system, and enjoy an afternoon of nostalgic community fun with the River Valley Alliance and the Fort Heritage Precinct.\n
