RVA Summer Scavenger Hunt July 16-Aug 26
The summer is here and it's time for another RVA summer Scavenger Hunt and fantastic prizes! This year each week highlights the trails and or RVA projects in one of the six municipalities that make up the RVA: Devon, Parkland County, Edmonton, Strathcona County, Sturgeon County and Fort Saskatchewan. Follow along as much as you would like throughout the month and stay involved by taking photos whenever you participate in the daily activities so that you can post them on social media with the hashtag #rvasummeroftrails for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.
TO ENTER:
Instagram: Post a photo of you, your friends or your family at one of the daily locations on the posted day during the RVA summer scavenger hunt on your Instagram grid (not a story or a reel). Include the hashtag #rvasummeroftrails and tag @rivervalleyalliance. You can post as many unique photos related to the weekly locations as you would like; however, only one of your posts will be entered into the contest. Just remember to include #rvasummeroftrails and @rivervalleyalliance in the post; otherwise, we will not see your post, and you will not be entered into the contest. Finally, ensure that the account you are posting from is public so we can validate your entries! Have fun, and we look forward to seeing your posts throughout the summer!
On Facebook: In the comment section of each summer scavenger hunt post highlighting each day’s daily location, post a photo of you, your friends or your family and include the hashtag #rvasummeroftrails. You will only be allowed one entry per day for posting pictures, so keep in mind that if you decide to post multiple images throughout the day, you will not receive multiple entries. If you want to earn multiple entries, they must come through bonus entries.
In addition, participants are not limited to only using one social media platform when posting photos. This means that individuals with social media accounts on both platforms (Instagram and Facebook) can earn two entries per day (one from each account) by posting a photo of them participating in the daily scavenger hunt. In addition, the same image can be posted on both accounts (although we would also love to see some variety), and it will still count towards multiple entries; remember always to use #rvasummeroftrails so we see your posts and can give you the necessary entries!
BONUS ENTRIES:
DISCLAIMER: To be eligible to receive bonus entries, you must FIRST post a photo on social media with the hashtag #rvasummeroftrails of yourself, your friends, your family, etc. taking part in the daily scavenger hunt; otherwise, your bonus entries will not be counted. This format is in place to prevent individuals from simply liking, sharing or tagging a friend on our posts without actually taking part in the daily activities. That said, we look forward to all the posts throughout the summer and seeing all your trail adventures.
On Instagram: After posting your photo, you can receive additional entries for completing any of the following criteria on the current day's #rvasummeroftrails social media post: a) liking the post, b) tagging a friend in the comments (1 bonus entry per friend tagged!), or c) sharing the RVA's post to stories (make sure to tag us so that we can see it!). Each like, tag and share is worth one (1) additional entry. Multiple tags are permitted & encouraged! You may share the social media post once per day.
On Facebook: After posting your photo, you can receive additional entries for completing any of the following on any of RVA's social media posts highlighting the daily scavenger hunt, posted through the six weeks. To get additional entries, simply a) like a post, b) tag a friend in the comments (1 bonus entry per friend tagged) or c) share the post. As mentioned above, always remember when leaving a comment to include #rvasummeroftrails so that we know you are posting your comment with the intent of getting a bonus entry for the contest!
