The Plan contains a map of the more than 100 km long capital region river valley parkway that is divided into seven areas.
In 2007, after extensive public and stakeholder consultation, the River Valley Alliance released its Plan of Action that articulates its vision for a continuous, connected North Saskatchewan River Valley park system. The Plan of Action encompasses a 25 year span, and will cost an estimated $300 million to complete.
The first part of the document provides a detailed report on the history, typography and natural features, plant and wildlife, attractions and development in the river valley,
and identifies the risks, challenges and potential for the river valley.
