Autumn Bird Walk

🍂 RVA Fall Bird Walk

Fall is one of the most exciting times to explore the North Saskatchewan River Valley—especially for bird lovers!

As summer comes to an end and the seasons begin to change, the river valley becomes an important corridor for birds preparing for or passing through on their fall migration. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see seasonal visitors alongside the many species that call the river valley home throughout the year.

Join the River Valley Alliance for a guided 3-hour Fall Bird Walk led by the knowledgeable team from Wildbird General Store.

Sunday, September 13 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Meeting Location: Alfred H. Savage Centre

The mouth of Whitemud Creek and the surrounding river valley provide excellent habitat for a wide variety of birds, making this one of Edmonton’s great locations for birdwatching.

During the walk, participants will learn how to identify birds by both sight and sound, discover which species are moving through the area during fall migration, and learn more about the habitats that make the North Saskatchewan River Valley so important for birds and other wildlife.

Whether you’re an experienced birder, just getting started, or simply curious about the birds you see and hear while exploring the river valley, this walk is designed to be informative, relaxed, and enjoyable for all experience levels.
