Fall Medicine – Moccasin and Medicine Trail Walk Series
📅 Date: Sunday, September 14, 2025
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Meeting Point: Parking lot next to Bison Lodge – 9430 Scona Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 3W2
Join us for the next event in the Moccasin and Medicine Trail Walk Series, led by the River Valley Alliance’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee.
This month’s theme, Fall Medicine, will guide us through a meaningful exploration of the plants, teachings, and practices connected to this season. Together, we will learn about traditional medicines harvested in autumn, their significance, and the cultural protocols surrounding their use.
This gathering invites participants of all ages—children, adults, and Elders—to come together in community, honour Indigenous knowledge, and deepen our connection to the land during this time of seasonal change.
👟 What to Bring:
-
Comfortable clothes for outdoor walking
-
Water bottle
-
Curiosity and openness to learning together
- a blanket or chair to sit on
We welcome everyone with open hearts, whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning to continue your journey.
🌿 This is a family-friendly and inclusive event grounded in respect, learning, and joy.
👉 Please arrive a few minutes early so we can begin on time.
❗ If you can no longer attend, please cancel your spot as soon as possible. As a small non-profit, we purchase materials specifically for registered participants, and large numbers of no-shows mean those resources—and the funds behind them—go to waste. These walks also typically have long waitlists, so by not cancelling, you may unintentionally keep someone else in the community from attending. Your cancellation makes a real difference.
