13 projects, 70km new trails.
In November, 2012, the River Valley Alliance (RVA) began a $90 million capital program to improve public access to the North Saskatchewan River and river valley, and to add new trails and features to existing infrastructure in what is North America’s longest metropolitan park system.
The initiatives were identified in the RVA Plan of Action, which was released in 2007.
Wrapping up in 2018, this $90 million, five-year capital plan included 13 projects, 70 km new trails, 1 funicular, 1 footbridge, and 1 community centre.
