RVA 2023 Summer of River Valley Adventure

Did you know that the river valley trail that will connect from Devon to Fort Saskatchewan has a name? The trail's chosen name Amisk Wacîw Mêskanaw (Beaver Hill Road), was graciously gifted in a ceremony by Elder Jerry Saddleback, is in nêhiyawêwin, the Cree language. This name invites everyone to "sing the song" of the river valley, nurturing a deeper sense of responsibility and belonging for all who traverse the trail.

The summer is here and it's the perfect time to get out explore the river valley trails in Parkland County, Devon, Edmonton, Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan and Sturgeon County and learn about the land we call home. Share your Amisk Wacîw Mêskanaw trail adventures this summer for a chance to win some amazing local prizes. Share your photos on Instagram with the hashtag #AmiskWaciwMeskanaw and tag @rivervalleyalliance for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.
