RVA Summer Scavenger Hunt

Join in our virtual scavenger hunt and have some fun over the Summer Break while exploring and celebrating the fantastic trails in the region.  #rvasummeroftrails!

We have selected 7 locations within each of our six partner municipalities: Devon, Parkland County, Edmonton, Strathcona County, Sturgeon County and Fort Saskatchewan between July 16 and Aug 26. Each week will feature locations from within one of the six municipalities.

We have fantastic weekly prizes from our local sponsors to make things more interesting.

We are excited to have you join us in another virtual scavenger hunt!

This summer is all about taking part in our daily challenges in a new municipality each week to #rvasummeroftrails!

Contest Rules:

This year's RVA's summer scavenger hunt contest will be active throughout the entirety of the event, starting July 16th and ending August 26th, 2022 and can be completed individually or in a team.

    • Individual Rules:

      • Set your social media profile to public

      • Use the hashtag #rvasummeroftrails in your posts.

      • You can post as many unique photos related to the daily location as you'd like! However, only one picture will count as an entry into the contest for that given day. Any other entries will have to be earned through bonus entries!

    • Team Rules:

      • Create a team social media account/profile or use one member's social media account

      • Set your profile to public

      • Use the hashtag #rvasummeroftrails and #yourteamname in your posts.

      • Teams can post photos as individual team members if the entire team cannot be in the picture together. Just make sure to include #yourteamname in your post!

      • You can post as many unique photos related to the daily location as you'd like! However, only one image will count as an entry into the contest for that given day. Any other entries will have to be earned through bonus entries! (i.e. If you have a team of 10 and each team member posts individually with #yourteamname, your team will only be entered into the draw once)

All participants must post a photo of themselves and/or their team at the daily location on the specific location's day. Don't stress if you miss a day or two of posting; you can always make up for it the next day and not feel like you've fallen behind! In addition, all entries from the entire six weeks will be added together at the end of the month for the grand prize draw, so don't let one missed day hold you back!

Remember to use the #rvasummeroftrails hashtag in all of your posts (this helps us track your activities and log your entries)

  • On Twitter,  tag @RiverValleyPark and include #rvasummeroftrails in your post.

  • On Instagram, tag @rivervalleyalliance and include #rvasummeroftrails in your post.

  • On Facebook, in the comment section of each daily activity post, share a photo of you and/or your team doing the daily activity and include #rvasummeroftrails

  • Prize #1 (Week 1 Draw) - 

    • Those who participate actively in week 1 of the RVA summer scavenger hunt will be entered into this prize draw.

    • Those who actively post themselves on social media taking part in the daily activities and gather bonus entries throughout week 1 only (July 16-22) will have the opportunity of being selected to win this prize.

    • One single winner will be selected on Monday, July  25th.

  • Prize #2 (Week 2 Draw) - 

    • Those who participate actively in week 2 of the RVA summer scavenger hunt will be entered into this prize draw.

    • Those who actively post themselves on social media taking part in the daily activities and gather bonus entries throughout week 2 only (July 23-29M) will have the opportunity of being selected to win this prize.

    • One single winner will be selected on Tuesday, August 2nd.

  • Prize #3 (Week 3 Draw) - 

    • Those who participate in week 3 Mof the RVA summer scavenger hunt will be entered into this prize draw.

    • Those who actively post themselves on social media taking part in the daily activities and gather bonus entries throughout week 3 only (July 30- August 5) will have the opportunity of being selected to win this prize.

    • One single winner will be selected on Monday, August 8th.

  • Prize #4 (Week 4 Draw) - 

    • Those who participate in week 4 of the RVA summer scavenger hunt will be entered into this prize draw.

    • Those who actively post themselves on social media taking part in the daily activities and gather bonus entries throughout week 4 only (August 6-12) will have the opportunity of being selected to win this prize.

    • One single winner will be selected on Monday, August 15th.

Prize #5 (Week 5 Draw) - 

  • Those who participate in week 5 of the RVA summer scavenger hunt will be entered into this prize draw.

  • Those who actively post themselves on social media taking part in the daily activities and gather bonus entries throughout week 5 only (August 13-19) will have the opportunity of being selected to win this prize.

  • One single winner will be selected on Monday, August 22nd.

Prize #6 (Week 6 Draw) - 

  • Those who participate in week 6 of the RVA summer scavenger hunt will be entered into this prize draw.

  • Those who actively post themselves on social media taking part in the daily activities and gather bonus entries throughout week 6 only (August 20-26) will have the opportunity of being selected to win this prize.

  • One single winner will be selected on Monday, August 29th.

  • Grand prize:

    • Entries from the entire 6 weeks (July 16- August 26) will count towards the grand prize draw.

    • Individuals who actively post themselves on social media from weeks 1 through 6 and gather bonus entries will have the best chances of winning.

    • One single winner will be selected on  Wednesday August 31st.
